If your organization is still in its early growth stages, it’s likely you don’t have a well-established career progression system. In this section, I’ll outline a simple approach to building one. Future articles will cover how to use such a framework in practice.

Building a career ladder is usually a task for higher-level engineering leaders and HR departments. Yet, even if you are in a lower-level position, it can be beneficial for you to see what can be an example approach here.

In my personal experience, I used similar frameworks when co-creating career progression frameworks as Head of Engineering, Director of engineering, and external consultant in a few organizations.
